National Coaches' Day!

It's Singapore first National Coaches' Day!

In newspaper, on televisions and some Zo cards, you have more or less get to see the publicity going on. People were asked to nominate their coaches for the coaches awards in different categories. From what I see, this Coaches' Day is targeted only at Coaches engaging in sports related training.

However, I believe a number of you would agree with me that some Coaches that came into our lives do not train us in sports. And usually, we don't call them as coaches even though they may have coached us in a number of areas.

Have you ever thought about your life coaches? What skills or knowledge have they imparted to you? How has the skills and knowledge helped you in your life :-

When you arrived at the crossroads of your life. When obstacles seem to make you fall with every step you take.
When the whole world seem to go against you.
When you simply felt so lost, you have your caring family members and friends, yet they can't seem to help the least bit.
And the list goes on and on…

In life, we would defintely have our Ups and Downs. It would be a stressful process to go through it alone, having no one to guide you in handling the negative things that are happening in our lives.

Noticed that when toddlers started to learn how to walk, parents held their hands and lead them to walk. Then slowly, we learn by holding onto tables, chairs, walls & etc to walk by ourselves. Parents would have let go of their little hands by then as they have fully provided their guidance to this little learners.

Along the way, in our growing up phase, parents do still hold our hands in one way or another, it can be literally holding our hands or lead us to think in a certain way perceived to be correct. They held our hands to hold up a pencil for the first time of our lives. Slowly, we learn to write. Soon enough, parents let go of our hands once more.

BUT they never stop us from holding on to their hands whenver we need guidance in any aspects of our lives. Unnoticingly, they have also been pushing us from the back as and when they see us going to fall hard on our backs. At times, they shifted us like you would do to a chess piece, they moved us back onto the right path with their invisible hands when they see us heading down the wrong path.

So, my dear readers, as you read through this long passage, has your life coaches' faces start to appear in your mind? It may or may not be your parents. It could any other relatives of yours, your teachers or your friends, anyone so to say.

Let these life coaches of yours know, wish them a Happy Coaches' Day now!
