(500) days of summer

It was anor last min decision to watch this movie. CL & I went Cine for a late night movie @ 1.50am. Though we have trouble keeping ourselves awake as it was late & dearest CL brought along a NICE beer to share just b4 the start of the show, we still enjoyed the movie. =)

This is a story of boy meets girl, BUT u need to noe upfront this is NOT a love story.

Qiqi "complains" I dun do gd movie reviews. I always just ask ppl to go or DON'T watch the movies I've watched. So, I shall do my best in giving this movie a fair review.

In the movie, boy & girl went thru courtship, entering in a love like relationship & falling out of love. However, we can see throughout the show or at least at the end of it, ONLY the boy went through the whole process. To the girl who used to think that "all marriages end up in divorces", the boy was right about the topic, "LOVE".

They were HAPPY, truly happy when they were with each other for the 400+ days. Both of them indeed. Boy was happy as he TOT he found the love of his life who he looks fwd to spending the rest of his life with. Girl was happy because she KNOWS she found someone whom she can open her heart to, feel safe in his arms knowing he'll be there for her whenever, wherever & their CASUAL relationship know as friendship + some sex at times makes her comfortable.

There was a disclaimer, "I want to be casual, no commitments, no stress, ok?" But the sad thing is whoever read FINE prints? Especially boys? No way, man!

Boy was angry when things seem to sway out of the way he thought it was, "I said we're a couple & we are!" He stormed out of her house.
Girl was upset, deeply affected that her BEST friend is mad at her. She went to his house & apologize by making out with him.

Isn't this complicated? Yup, it seems to be.

In the end, girl totally agree with the boy's love theory. But the heart breaking thing was, she only fell for his belief, not with him. She married someone else who makes her feels the way the boy has described.

Boy was devastated. Quited his job, slept like a pig, drink like there's no tomorrow & BEHAVE like a loser. Luckily, he has friends who care very much about him. A girl friend of his who's much younger than him was his best love advisor.

He finally wake up to his senses & start life afresh. That was when his 1st day of autumn begins. . .

My conclusion, "We have different amount of fate with each & every person we met. Your love r/s or friendship couldn't last coz ur fate is not enough to pull you through. Don't be sad. Smile coz once you met & crossed paths. Think back of the HAPPY moments you have, but don't dwell on them. Move on!"
