Singapore Hits Awards 2008!
全城焦点所在，年度音乐盛事，新加坡金曲奖2008圆满落幕了！
Well, after the disaster last year, I almost wanted to give up hope on my fave radio stn.
But I believe in giving 2nd chance, so I went for the ceremony again.
It was far better than the last with more singers attending & better performance put up.
Results were more or less satisfying. BUT still, some awards winner(s) make me wana pull off my limited hair.
I know a handful of you are anxious to know the results.
Coz I received quite a fair bit of sms from my dearest readers asking, "Did who & who win this or that award?"
So, being the friendly blog owner, Eagle Ivan, I'm here to deliver the latest results to you!
(Yup, FM93.3 has released the results on their website. They host this event mah, wat u expect?)
But I think you won't get to see/read the other interesting stuff on what the singers did on any newspaper @ this hour rite?
Okay, without further adieu, here are the results!
1) 最佳本地作词(Best local composed lyrics) - 小寒 is the winner for 达尔文 sang by 蔡健雅. (I love most of the lyrics she composed!)
2) 最佳本地作曲(Best local composed melody) - 李伟松 is the winner for 收藏 sang by 萧敬腾.
3) 最佳本地歌手奖(Best local singer) - Tanya 蔡健雅 (Hot mama went on stage to receive award for her daughter. Very funny lady with a special accent.)
4) 优秀新人奖(Outstanding newcomer) - 杨宗纬，伍家辉，刘力扬，萧敬腾，王若琳，林宥嘉。
(刘力扬 gave her thank you speech in fluent English & Joanna 王若琳 who went after her spoke in a mixture of Chinese & English. English is the new 'IN' language even for Chinese Awards ceremony?)
5) 停榜最久金曲 - 杨宗纬 - 洋葱 (My hair got plugged off the 1st time.)
6) 榜上风光奖 - Jay 周杰伦， 王力宏，Yoga 林宥嘉。(All guys... Where are all my female idols?)
7) 最受欢迎对唱金曲(Most popular duet):-
i) 金莎 & 林俊杰 - 期待爱
ii) S.H.E & 飞轮海 - 心窝 (Everybody say YEAH!)
iii) 刘力扬 & 炎亚纶 - Ti Amo
8) 最佳乐团 - 苏打绿
9) 最佳组合 - 大嘴巴 (爱莎 has one of the sexiest legs I've ever seen! Super high just by looking at her dance with those hot pants! She's super duper cute too!)

11) Courts MV 大奖 - 大嘴巴 - 结果咧
12) 最受欢迎新人奖(Most popular newcomer) - 杨宗纬 (My hair's getting lesser...)

15) 最受欢迎团体奖 (Most popular group) - S.H.E (Every1 pls scream!!!)
16) 最具潜力本地新人奖 - 何维健 (Well, Singapore is small, they just hafta show that little support to their home breed singer, rite? Without these 2 awards, I think he would have make a wasted trip there lah, hor? But, pls brush up on your pronunciation! Dun mumble, even the old couple sitting beside me was laughing.)
17) 最佳单曲制作人 - Bing Wong is the winner for the song, 迷宫 sang by his daughter, Joanna 王若琳. (So, it's not diff to guess she rec'd the award on his behalf, rite? She has a nice jazzy voice, but a pity not every1 appreciate jazz...)
18) 最佳专辑制作人 - 陈伟，陈小霞，陈秀珠，郭文宗，王治平 won for Yoga 林宥嘉's album, 神秘嘉宾。(Perhaps numbers count? I wonder if it's giving for best, or the most number of producer's award. Or the same rule of absence means no award? Tell me which of these albums & producers aren't better than the winner? Jim Lee for Eason's 不想放手，曹格 & 涂惠源 for Gary's Super Sunshine, Tanya for her own album, Goodbye and Hello, Jay Chou for his own album, 我很忙.)
19) 最佳创作歌手 - Tanya 蔡健雅 for Goodbye and Hello (Finally, her hard work pay off after so many years. This album is really very good & her turning point. She has won quite alot of awards in alot of countries based on this album.)
20) 年度专辑大奖 - Eason's 不想放手
21) 年度人气奖 - Yoga 林宥嘉 (How do they really judge this? Aren't his seniors S.H.E or Fahrenheit more welcomed by much more fans than his?)
22) 舞台魅力 - 五月天 (They really rocks the whole stage! Luckily, the ceiling didn't come down. 到场的人都有耳福听到五月天全球首唱的你不是真正的快乐。Shiok!)
23) 最佳演绎男歌手 - Eason 陈奕迅
24) 最佳演绎女歌手 - Fish 梁静茹 (Finally, she get to go on stage! She has been sitting at her seat for at least 1.5hrs before this award is given to her!)
25) 海外杰出歌手奖:-
i) China - 张靓颖
ii) Malaysia - Fish 梁静茹 (Her voice never fails to touch my heart. Listening to her live is one of the best life's pleasure. She sang 崇拜 & 会呼吸的痛, both my fave! And quote wat she said, "这两首都是马来西亚的创作，请多支持马来西亚的作品！")
iii) Taiwan - Jay 周杰伦
iv) Hong Kong - Eason 陈奕迅 (He's 1 of the busiest, keep running up the stage.)
26) 亚洲传媒大奖:-
i) 女歌手 - Jolin 蔡依林 (This is the only award she can escape from the other J.)
ii) 男歌手 - Eason 陈奕迅
iii) 团体 - May Day 五月天

I don't just criticise, I give praises too.
The performance put up by the singers were great on the nicely done stage by YES 93.3.
The opening song, 永恒的光辉 by 伍家辉, Diya, Superbands's(三月 & 大风吹) lead singers was a nice remix.
The 1st batch of Superband, 迷路兵 sang 纸飞机，无底洞 & 成熟.
Though I don't really fancy them, I must admit they have improved a fair bit over the years.
Wu Jia Hui sang 虽然我愿意 with alot of feelings put in & could see that he was still excited/nervous over his winnings.
Jade 刘力扬 was cool! It was like playing off the CD when she perform the song, 我就是这样。
While singing duet with her 师兄, Yoga 林宥嘉 on the songs, Ti Amo & 传说，she was like holding hands of a little bro... -_-"
Joanna Wong brought a little instrument & use it to perform her new song, Bada Bada which would be released in her new album. Very sincere & unique performance she had there.
Yoga 林宥嘉 is the first singer ever to clamp his mic in between his thighs at the Singapore Hits Awards. He wanted to lead the audience into clapping hands. I think he's afraid of spoiling the mic if he claps on it.
It was Jade 刘力扬's b'day on 24th Oct 2008. 1 of my fave DJs, 蔡伟彬 prepared a so called surprise by asking 伍家辉 & 林宥嘉 to sing a b'day song for her.
Overall, it was an enjoyable night with a complimentary tix.
If not, it's definitely not worth spending $$ on the tix & having to pay for hair growth sessions.
Perhaps eating onion will help? (If you get it, you get it. If you don't, den too bad.)
