Star Awards 2015

As age catches up and with the increase in commitments, I've not been watching as many TV shows as I used to.

However, I'll still stay glued to the TV every year for this award ceremony.

To me, recognition is important, we need to recognize people's efforts in way that we can.

It doesn't necessary mean we should give rewards, presents and such.

Just like in normal daily lives, we can be generous in giving compliments to people around us.

Tell them they have done well when you feel they did.

Sometimes, as humans and especially so, as Asians, we are not used to giving our compliments.

It just have to start someday, somehow by some means, right?

This year, I'm especially touched when I saw Pornsak receiving his first host award after being nominated for 5 years.

He has always been a humble and hardworking chap.

Finally, his hard work is being recognized and great efforts paid off.

Seeing Rebecca Lim winning her Best Leading Actress award came off as a shock initially.

Though I've not been watching TV, at least I've seen 1 or 2 episodes of the TV shows the other 4 nominees have acted in.

For the show which Rebecca was nominated, I've not even heard of the show name till the name list came out.

Yet, we have seen how much efforts Rebecca puts in all these years in improving her acting skills.

Perhaps, I need to go Toggle now to catch up on that 《我们一定行》show to understand why she deserves this award.

Last but not least, Rui'En's speech rocks!

That is why those who adores her loves her so much!

She always show her true self even though some seniors said she still has a kid in her.

At least, that is her being herself.

Many have varying opinions on her seemingly "black face" on stage during Star Awards 2015 show 1.

She apologizes for causing any inconvenience to anyone.

Yet, she emphasizes she will continue to be herself because smiling (she acted a laugh) is just not her true self.

In this world, where we meet a lot of fake people who hides behind their masks or have knives behind their smiles (Chinese saying of 笑里藏刀), it is rare when you can see someone being themselves.

The saddest thing is most of us still prefer seeing the fake side of some people as it seems closer to how they expect that someone should be instead of embracing the real side of how that person is.

That is okay. The person who is being her own self will not need to answer to her mighty one when she meet him one day.

Whichever religion you may have, your judgement day would come.

Even if you are a free thinker, I believe there is a world you go to after death, you would face the music in there.

I always believe you know yourself best, innocent ones need not explain to others.

Just like the Chinese saying that goes, "清者自清".
