Number Game

Image
17/10/21 :- If it is a number game, would you hang on till the end? What if I tell you some of the things in life that you wanted are nothing but number games? If you can see the whole picture, would you be able to emerge as the winner in life? I often get a lot of light bulb moments when I chant. This was another night. This is not a secret or magic. We merely lack the ability to see the whole picture. Thus we do not have the determination and gave up before we reach the end. I think back of my own past. How many times or things did I give up because I did not hang in till the end? I gave up simply too easily. Or maybe, those were not the things I really wanted (that badly)? We set targets on the things we want. Halfway through the process, we felt tired, rejected, hopeless. We could not find the will to carry on. We tell ourselves, this is not working out. Let us just give up and go after something else. If I know, after 99 times: - of approaching a customer for a ...

The real or imaginative you?

Image
19/08/21 :- Did you fall in love with the real them or the imaginative them? The imaginative them does not mean they do not exist, not like that imaginary friend you have. It means the kind of person (usually good) you imagined they are. In real life, they are (actually not as good) just not what you have imagined. Someone asked this question recently. I think this is something worth pondering over. This happened to alot of people around me. My family and close friends. I believe there are times you may have said this to someone too. "He/she is not as good as you think they are." As an outsider, there are things we can truly see clearer than the person involved. Yes, on one hand, we can say they are blinded by love. Yet, when we are...

Stay Firm, Trust Your Intentions, Be Committed, Never Give Up!

It has been a long time, I am tired. Physically, mentally and mostly emotionally. I an not a rational person, I act upon emotions. Ended up with injuries and bruises all over. Though I know I have to brush up on my communication, it takes time for improvement to take place. Feedback I've received and as the results showed, "Ivan, you are always/easily misunderstood." Yes, it gets frustrating and eventually hurting when others not only do not get what you meant and went to the other extreme. I shared my business, my products and the course I've attended. I shared my business to prep others for their Plan B and the very bad job market that's coming up. I shared my products hoping to improve and maintain people's health. I shared the c...

In a world where you can be anything, BE KIND!

Image
21/05/19 :- In a world where you can be anything, BE KIND! Guys may have strong ego, but we have feelings too. Not all guys are wolves, who are only after your bodies. When we give you our hearts, please treat them with care. You may not want to be the owners, but do not go around breaking them. Many have came to show their care and concern, I'm truly grateful and appreciate your kind words. I am sorry, I couldn't share much on the details. I can only say, I am not ok, but don't worry, I would be fine as time goes by. Whatever that has happened, was just a case of a silly guy misinterpreting all the wrong signals sent. Falling in too fast and too deep. The girl was playing with fire and when she realized the fire was near, the most logical thing to do was to let go and not get her fingers burnt. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, except the guy is left to pick up the broken pieces of his fragile heart which he has given out too so...

Prayers for others!

Image
25/08/18 :- When you pray for others, you find no excuse to skip! Was having a dialogue with a young lady recently. In terms of age, she's 12 years my junior. However, when we talk about being a Soka member, she has definitely more than 12 years of Buddha's wisdom, courage and compassion as compared to me. We had an interesting dialogue. She mentioned that she was grateful that throughout her growing up years, other than having to chant for good results and passing all her exams  smoothly,  she has not encountered personal issues which required her to chant to resolve them. It is definitely a good thing. She shared that she believes you do not need to wait for things to happen before you start chanting, you can always accumulate blessings as you chant daily. These accumulated blessings may just help you in future when you needed them most. Throughout the years of chanting, she has also been chanting for her friends to come ...

Give before you take.

Image
Give before you take. =) This is such a simple statement yet so hard to achieve. I had several encounters and also met some people recently which gave me this thought. There are people where in certain occasions, making certain decisions or when dealing with certain people, the first thing which comes to mind is, "How is this going to benefit me?" I believe, there's ...

Life is unpredictable, treasure the moment!

Image
02/01/18 :- Life is unpredictable, treasure the moment! I have seen a similar photo being forwarded in social media sometime ago. Since then, it has made me think a lot about life and I have wanted to blog about it. However, time never seem enough for me to sit down and pen my thoughts down. So much has happened within a short span of time to people around me, I think it is high time I sit down to blog my feelings and thoughts. At the same time, hopefully it serves as a gentle reminder to the  readers of this blog. I bet most of us have always hold this thought in our minds, "I still have tons of time left, I can do this later (tomorrow, next week, month, year, etc)." It may be true today, tomorrow or next week. But, how long more can this sentence of "I still have time" stay true? Even if we say the average lifespan of a person is 75 years old. What makes us think we really can do so? Have we truly give a thought on this? When our mo...

Only seek advice from people you want to trade places with!

Image
30/10/17 :- Only seek advice from people you want to trade places with! How many times have we seek different kind of advice from people? Be honest, at least once in our lives, don't we? Be it studies, love, career, life, you name it. However, have we ever stopped to wonder, why are we seeking advice from the people we were seeking advice from? Because we have a close relationship with them? They were the only ones available at the time we needed advice? Or are they already at the position where we want to be at in the area you are seeking advice for? Think about this, if you want to score an A in Maths, would you ask a person who never even got a pass? If you want to go after a girl you have interest in, would you seek advice from someone who has never entered a relationship? If you needed advice on running your own business, why would you seek advice from a friend who has been a working employee his whole life? If you want to seek ...

One thing, multiple meanings.

Image
One thing, multiple meanings. How sure are you to know the meaning of what you have seen with your eyes? What makes you think what you see is what the sender is trying to convey? In the picture, on the left, the simple sign can signifies number 2, victory, peace, and perhaps many more. How about the picture on the right? When do one tear? Tears of touch at the birth of your child and holding it in your arms? Angry tears when you were so mad at somebody? You got so upset to the point of tearing? Since there can be multiple meaning to the same thing we see, how can we make the effort to be 100% sure what is it? All you can at least do on your part is to ask the sender. Wheth...

Finish what you started!

Image
12/01/17 :- Finish what you started! Chapter 15 of  Why We Want You To Be Rich" by Donald J.Trump and Robert T.Kiyosaki - What did you learn from your mother? Finish what you started! In my younger days, I've started many things and gave up half way. If not for Mum, I would not be able to drive my car around now. I passed my TP on my 3rd try. I was ready to throw in the towel after I failed the 2nd time. I'm truly grateful for her encouragement back then. Ever since then, I always remember the feeling of passing my TP. Whenever I feel like giving up on things I've started, I remind myself how it would feel like if I do not give up and carry on trying till I succeed. I enjoy having success and even crave for it. Challenges are fun to me, breaking records get me going. However, since I try my best not to give up what I've started, I've also learnt to take on my tasks with caution. If I know or predict that I would n...

Work hard first, enjoy life later!

Image
09/01/2017 :- Work hard first, enjoy life later! Still at my book, "Why We Want You To Be Rich" by Donald J.Trump and Robert T.Kiyosaki. Chapter fourteen - What did you learn from your father? There is the your response portion at the end of the chapter, so here goes... My dad, he wasn't highly educated, thus he knows he needs to work harder than anyone else. Direct translation of the Chinese characters means take the bitterness first before tasting the sweetness, Dad illustrated that to us since young by offering sweet after we have to take our medicine when we fall sick. When I grow older and read a couple of self-motivation and self-improvement books, I realized Dad was actually practicing delay gratification, a skill mastered by many successful entrepreneurs. If only he knows how to turn his skills into a career by passing down to those workers he was in charge of and learnt to control his temper, he would probably own the best ho...

Being FAKE is scarier than being LAZY!

Image
06/01/17 :- Being FAKE is scarier than being LAZY! If you have ever been back-stabbed or betrayed, you would truly understand what this means and how it feels. After being in the society for a couple of year and having encounters with all sorts of angels and devils, you learnt to read people. However, as most of us are not face readers fortune tellers, sometimes, our judgement fails us. If someone cause harm or hurt you once or twice, something is wrong with them. If you allow them to harm or hurt you the third time, something is wrong with you. Don't be too trustful. People will change over the years and not necessary for the better. Never harbor evil thoughts towards others, but never let down your guard against them too. As we enter a new year, may my dear readers and I can grow a year wiser. Be more mindful of who you put your trust in. At the same time, please treasure the trust people have in you. It takes a lifetime to build trust, but a mo...

No dream is too small to strive for!

Image
No dream is too small to strive for! Since young, I have always had big dreams. It came as a surprise to me when I met a new friend the other day and she said, "Do you know why I didn't volunteer as a participant of your project? I have no dream." She may or may not be true. After that, she asked if I can share with her about my dreams. Thus, I showed her my dream board and roughly explained to her on how we can find our own dreams. Simple thing like not waking up to the sound of an alarm can be a dream too. When we talk about dreams, it is not necessary to be BIG dreams. As long as it's something you really want, it can be your dream. If you are like my friend, feeling lost or thinking that you do not have a dream, ask me out for coffee. I hope my humble sharing with you during our coffee chat can help you realized deep down, you actually do have a dream. It may be waiting silently for you to achieve it.

Time is money!

Image
12/12/16 :-  Time is money! Time is money, many of us have heard that at least once in our lifetime. However, how much do we really understand this simple sentence? We need to really monetize it. What does that mean? Imagine if every 15mins of your time is worth $1,000, then would you be doing the thing you are doing now? Would you be hitting the snooze button for 15mins or wake up 15mins earlier to exercise for a healthier body? Would you be wasting half an hour to watch Korean drama or read a book to increase your knowledge? Would you spend an hour time working overtime to fulfill someone else dreams or would you leave the office and spend an hour learning how to build your own dream? So, the next time you want to do something, think again. If 15mins of my time is worth $1,000, would I want to do the next thing I've planned to do?

You are never ready for that heartbreak date... 。。

Image
28/11/16 :- You are never ready for that heartbreak date... 。。 I am the old fashion man who is still used to having a physical organizer to mark all my dates, appointments and important stuff down. Heard from a speaker some time ago, "We marked all sort of dates on our organizer, but we can never predict that one day we would be marking down the death anniversary of someone we love." It pierces right through my heart. To make things worse, I was actually doing my 10km run in the stadium on that day. Tears were welling up in my eyes yet I have to force myself to finish the run. Why do I go back to our old house every year on this date? Though I know no matter how many years I go back, or what I do, it would never bring Grandma back to life; I cannot allow myself to miss this date. I know I can never repay the woman I love most in my life. Thus, I'm putting in double or even triple times more effort in building my business now to bring ...

。。We left home seeking to return one day…

Image
。。 We left home seeking to return one day… 。。 Heard our partner shared her dream board today, emotions filled my heart. To add on, I have just brought my Mum along to attend my goddess, Stacy Tung's local seminar over the weekends, tears welled up i...

Do not let your convenience inconvenient others.

Image
25/10/16 :- Do not let your convenience inconvenient others. Everyone is in search of a convenient way to do things. I understand everyone has their preferred way of life as well. However, I believe that in living the way that you want, one should not cause unhappiness, discomfort or inconvenience to others around them. Age does not show your maturity. It is merely a number telling the world how long have you been living or wasting on Earth's resources. There would always be people around us who thinks the world evolved around them and do the slightest things without a little common sense. I hope my readers are none of theses selfish, foolish, childish people.

Pressure and Resistance -

Pressure motivates people! Resistance creates power! Pressure motivates people, resistance creates power! Do you work well under pressure? What do you do when you are faced with resistance? I used to be boiled down by pressure. In the past, with a little resistance, I tend to quit. However, due to experience and perhaps as age catches up, things are no longer the same for me now. Most importantly, I am currently hanging out with the right groups of positive people. With the awesome energy and right attitude, I move forward with direction. Though it may not be easy now, I know in time to come, all these is going to be worthwhile. What do you do when you get cold water splashed over you nearly every week or every now and then? Do you get discouraged or move on? You are the only person who can fight on for your own success. Similarly, you are the only one who can decide that you should fail. Do not let others de...

She has been the best supporter for 4 years. 31st July 2016 marks my 5th year in helping to raise funds and create awareness for the children at Children Cancer Foundation by taking part in Hair for Hope. However, my Mum has decided to join me for the first time! I'm truly so proud of her! Just last week, I had dinner and a heart to heart talk with my lyrics classmate, Christine aka Shang Rui. Few years back, she decided to come and work here in Singapore. Initially, her parents objected strongly. However, seeing the positive changes in her whole family ever since she came here, she never regretted making that decision. This was what she said, "I never expect the little decision which I made will affect my family members that much." She said something else which my idol, Stacy Tung has mentioned before too, "If by working harder, my parents/Mum can enjoy more and faster, I am willing to do just that." Coinciden...
